Autumn Colors in Your Homes

  • 2 min read

The traditional autumn season in Ireland paints hills, valleys, and cities in vibrant hues. The best and boldest displays emerge as a result of a mild winter - with a little snow - a spring with normal rainfall, and a summer that is not too hot and humid. Then, in September, the weather should be cool and crisp, with sunnier and warmer days for a beautiful change of leaves. If you have the opportunity to visit Ireland in the fall, do so, but there are plenty of ways to bring this stunning display of autumn colors into your home.

Decorate the coffee table

Do you usually put artwork or books on your coffee table? When autumn arrives, you may want to move them out of the way and replace them with a seasonal candle or two perfumes to infuse the room with soothing scents. An imposing bouquet of flowers inspired by the leaves can serve as a focal point to delight the eye: an arrangement with many oranges, reds, and yellows evokes the Irish landscape. If you use a taller vase, it will resemble the trunk of a tree, complete with colorful flowers on top.

If you want a stunning dining room centerpiece, look for flowers in a vase or basket that are placed lower in the vase or basket – you still want to be able to see your guests at the table! When planning a fall-themed dinner, consider using a combination of flowers and candles for some seasonally appropriate lighting and color to create a welcoming, relaxing atmosphere.

Choose a color for each collection and room

Small bouquets on occasional tables or space bookshelves bring the outdoors inside. Choose one color for each collection and room for a more subtle seasonal look. For instance, in the living room, place orange roses in small vases, bright yellow flowers in the kitchen to cheer you up while you cook, and deep, ruby red bouquets in the bedroom.

Flowers are a lovely way to bring the colors of the season into your home. Be creative and don't limit yourself to just the living room – you could even brighten up the bathroom with a small vase filled with a couple of fall flowers. Whatever the case may be, take in as much color as you can. It's a once-a-year treat that everyone can appreciate.
